Ledyard National Bank recently donated $5000 to support Vital Communities’ work to strengthen the Upper Valley’s local economy.
As members of Vital Communities’ Corporate Council, Ledyard shares Vital Communities’ recognition that regional prosperity grows from communities actively building economies that strengthen and sustain the places we love.
Vital Communities’ work is at the heart of a vibrant Upper Valley region. They bring citizens, organizations, and municipalities together to address issues where an independent voice and regional approach are essential. Their programs including climate adaptation, workforce housing initiatives, transportation, and more emerge from, and are driven by, regional needs and community interests. One important and urgent initiative is their Local First Alliance, which engages businesses, organizations, and citizens to strengthen our local economy. Locally-owned, independent businesses play a crucial role in creating jobs, enhancing our community cohesion and local character. The Local First team has been on the ground providing important, practical support to very small, local businesses during this time, by running coaching calls for restaurants, hospitality, and farmers on topics such as human resource management, public health and FMLA.
