Our History
In September 1989, a group of eleven prominent civic and business leaders was formed to discuss opening a new community bank in the Upper Valley. Their meeting was in response to the changes in the local banking scene that were the result of long-established community banks being sold and merged into larger financial institutions.
The group decided to embark on the establishment of a new community bank that truly provided personal, responsive and efficient financial services to businesses and individuals in the Upper Valley, Lake Sunapee, and Concord Regions.
1991 Ledyard National Bank opens with 1 location and 12 employees
1992 A drive-up office opens on the corner of Lebanon and Park Streets in Hanover, NH
1994 Financial Centers open in Lyme, NH and Norwich, VT
1994 Investment and Trust Services Division are established
1997 A financial center opens in West Lebanon, NH
1999 A banking and investment & trust financial center opens in New London, NH
2001 A highly visible new financial center opens on Route 120 in Lebanon, NH
2007 Investment and Trust Services expands and evolves into Ledyard Financial Advisors, a comprehensive wealth management group
2008 Ledyard Financial Advisors moves to its own building on Maple Street in Hanover, NH
2010 Ledyard Bank grows to over 100 employees
2014 Ledyard Private Banking service is launched
2016 Ledyard National Bank celebrates 25th year anniversary. Ledyard opens a wealth management office in Concord, NH
2018 Operations Center opens in West Lebanon, NH
2020 Ledyard opens a financial center in Concord, NH
